March 2016 Up-to-date
March is loooooking good! it is my favourite month of the year and not only because it contains my birthday, but also because it always brings novelties..its the door for spring. The very good news are that Chiaroscuro (work title) will be published by Alfa Music, Italian label by the end of May. Me, as Federica am slowly getting re-adjusted to the life in Rome, exciting jazz scene, good food and a decent balance between sunny days and rainy ones. Also coming Sunday 13th of March me and the talented Italian/Bulgarian bunch will be making a video recording…I’m not gonna say more. IT HAS to be a surprise! Love to all
December 2015 Up-to-date
Dear all, we are working really hard to find the best way for our new album to come out! We can’t say yet when the release date will be, but hopefully very soon. We will begin the year with 2 concerts in Bulgaria, the 7.01.16 in Plovdiv – Beebop and the 9.01.16 in Sofia – Studio 5. Very much looking forward to that! I’m honoured these great Bulgarian musicians will join me to play the music of Acquaphonica: Alexander Logozarov on guitar, Mihail Ivanov on double bass and Bobby Petrov on drums. Keep in touch and updated.

Bethany’s jazz club Amsterdam on the 19th of March 2015, at 21:00
Jazz Maastricht Festival on the 21st of March 2015 at 23:00
After spending three months in hectic Mumbai, India I’m here back in the nice and tidy Amsterdam but yet not really back, since I’m going back and forth between Rome and Amsterdam, always on the move. During the time we spent in Mumbai I and Mihail, besides teaching Jazz at a very new school for Contemporary Music called TSM, had the chance to play and perform Acquaphonica’s music in THE jazz club of Mumbai, the Bandra Base, with American guitarist Sean Richey, American saxophonist Pawan Benjamin and German drummer Jonas David Kröper. It was a blast to be in India, opened my eyes and my ears to a completely different world. Luckily enough we could travel to the South of the country where the Carnatic Music Festival of Chennai was happening; we met fabulous musicians and performers, listened to definitely different music and ways of thinking and creating. I need to go back this was just the beginning.
And now the news about the band: we won the 3rd price (!!) in the competition that we played last summer in Civita di Bagnoregio in Italy.
In the near future we will be playing two shows in the Netherlands, first one on the 19 of March at the Bethany’s jazz club http://www.bethanienklooster.nl/ in Amsterdam and on the 21 of March at the Maastricht jazz festival https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGS4gmsrUIY.
Yet that’s not all. I’m writing new music for the second album of Acquaphonica. We will be recording in spring 2015. I’m endlessly grateful to Joao, Matthijs, Mihail and Kristijan for helping me creating the new album. Music exists to be shared with other musicians, with listeners, people.
Coming up shows on our tour page!
Summer is finally here and we will play in some beautiful places!
In Italy @ Civita di Bagnoregio (Viterbo) ancient town on a mountain pick, for a breath taking view and atmosphere. There we will take part of a competition established by Tuscia in Jazz (http://www.tusciainjazz.it/premio-gruppi-emergenti-jazz/). The first night will be on the 24.07.2014 and the final on the 28.07.2014. Besides me on piano and Mihail Ivanov on double bass, we have two special Italian guests playing Acquaphonica’s music: Manuel Trabucco on Soprano Saxophone and Riccardo Gambatesa on Drums. Check this guys out they are awesome!
After that, we flight with the whole ‘dutch’ band to Bulgaria on the 29.07, for 4 shows in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Lozenets (yet to be confirmed). On saxophone we will have another special guest, Genzo Okabe (http://www.genzookabe.com/). Joao Driessen will be back with us after the summer!
